| Missing boy located near Plymouth Sun, 13 Jul 2008 00:28:00 CST The story of a missing town of Empire boy had a happy ending Saturday evening. Anthony Kiraly, 13, of W4336 Betty Lane, was located around 6:30 p.m. at his grandparents home in the rural Plymouth area, said Fond du Lac County Chief Deputy Mark Strand. The boy, who is described as having Aspergers syndrome, a form of autisim, left his home at about 10 a.m. Saturday, said Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink. The Sheriffs Department conducted a full-scale search and had set up a command post at the intersection of Betty Lane and Reilly Drive after being notified at about 11:35 a.m. that the boy was missing. Also helping with the search were Town of Fond du Lac, Eden and Mount Calvary fire departments and ThedaStar helicopter. The boy, authorities said, apparently made his way north to Highway 23 and walked about 20 miles to the outskirts of Plymouth, where he was picked up by an elderly couple. He used their phone to call an aunt who met the boy and the elderly couple. The aunt then took Anthony to his grandparents house. The grandparents then notified the boys parents, and detectives responded and reunited the family. |
