| Fire damages home in town of Calumet Fri, 15 Aug 2008 11:19:00 CST TOWN OF CALUMET Fire caused moderate damage Thursday to a house in the town of Calumet. At about 6:45 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriffs Department, Calumet Fire Department and Mount Calvary Fire Department responded to a home at W2073 County Trunk HHH. According to a Sheriffs Department press release, owner and sole occupant Elizabeth Probst called in to report the fire. She was not injured. Authorities determined that the fire was electrical in nature, according to the release. An upstairs bedroom sustained moderate damage, and smoke damage was apparent throughout the house. |

| Story: DNR airplane joins search for missing boater Tue, 12 Aug 2008 08:34:00 CST Authorities will resume the search Wednesday morning for a 60-year-old man whose boat was found unoccupied on Lake Winnebago north of Oshkosh. Divers called off the search for the man by 8 p.m. Tuesday and would resume the search this morning, said Sgt. James Giese of the Winnebago County Sheriffs Department. Authorities began searching for the man shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, when residents of Shorewood Drive in the town of Oshkosh reported seeing an empty boat on the lake. What began as a search and rescue effort by three fire departments turned to an attempt to locate the mans body by late morning. Divers from the sheriffs department and the Oshkosh Fire Department searched the area, which was 5 feet to 8 feet deep. |
